GET READY FOR THE 2016 iHeartRadio AWARDS

The iHeartRadio Awards is this weekend at the Forum in Los Angeles and will include performances by some of the biggest names in the industry today.

This year, the awards will feature 31 categories, including new awards for “Best Tour,” “Best Duo/Group of the Year” and “Latin Song of the Year,” as well as individual awards for “Artist of the Year” in music’s biggest genres. Taylor Swift leads nominees with eight nominations and will vie for the first “Female Artist of the Year” award, while The Weeknd received seven nominations, including in the inaugural “Male Artist of the Year” category. Swift and the Weeknd will go head-to-head in the coveted “Song of the Year” and first-ever “Album of the Year” categories. Other artists who have received multiple nominations include Adele, Drake, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Luke Bryan and Sam Smith.

duo_group_0_1455012487This year’s awards will allow fans to interact in the awards show by not only being able to attend but also vote on categories like “Best Lyrics”, “Best Collaboration” and “Best Cover Song.”

Allowing fans to participate gives the show a more unique edge than most of the award ceremonies being done today and should also allow it a certain sense of honesty. Shows like the Grammy’s have come under fire in recent years for giving the spotlight to those with more success in business than talent. Below is the complete list of nominees:
