Celebrities lended their star power to an amazing cause this passed weekend at the annual Trevor Live show at the Hollywood Palladium in support of The Trevor Project.  The organization’s mission is to provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning young people.

As performers and special guests arrived for Trevor Live, hundreds of thousands of people tuned in online for a special live stream of the red carpet, hosted by WhatsTrending.com. Co-hosts Shira Lazar and Tyler Oakley interviewed dozens of talented supporters of The Trevor Project for a 2-hour live red carpet arrivals show, sponsored by Toyota Financial Services.

PPLA host Nick Collins was also on the red carpet catching up with these stars including celebrities Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), Samuel Larsen (Glee), Sarah Hyland (Modern Family), Jessica Sanchez (American Idol), and Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) who was the celebrity “Voice of God” for the Trevor Liveshow.

The Trevor Project honored Katy Perry with the Trevor Hero Award and Audi with the Trevor 2020 Award. “On behalf of Audi of America, I would like to sincerely thank The Trevor Project for this recognition,” said Michael Patrick, Media and Entertainment Communications manager at Audi upon acceptance of the Trevor 2020 Award. “Audi is grateful to be able to help encourage LGBTQ youth to take pride in themselves and the communities that support them.  Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders, and being a true leader means being unique and being authentic.”

Katy Perry was equally humbled stating, “I am so proud to be honored by The Trevor Project as a Trevor Hero,” said Katy Perry, Trevor Hero Award honoree. “I hope all LGBTQ youth know that they are as valuable as anyone else, that they are amazing and unique, and make the world a more vibrant place. Trevor’s life-saving, life-affirming work helps youth find the future they deserve. I want every young person to choose to have a tomorrow and to dream for the future.”
