PPLA attended the Walk for Kids Growth event at Griffith Park presented by The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in partnership with the Human Growth Foundation. The event helped increase awareness of childhood growth disorders and raise funds for research, education, support and advocacy.
Research shows 48% of children in the United States evaluated with the two most common forms of growth failure have gone undiagnosed. One in 3, 480 children in the US is affected by growth hormone deficiency.
Walk for Kids Growth featured live entertainment by IM5 (founded by Simon Fuller the creator of American Idol, Perez Hilton and Jamie King), display booths, celebrity meet & greet, giveaways and more.
Attendees included Joey King (White House Down, Crazy, Stupid Love), Hunter King (Young and the Restless), Mason Cook (Lone Ranger, Spy Kids: 4), Mark Christopher Lawrence (Glee and Chuck), Breanna Yde (Haunted Hathaways), Rowan Blanchard (Spy Kids:4, Back-Up Plan), Zach Callison (I’m in the Band), and Flynn Morrison (Last Man Standing).
