Film, Premiers
Feb 27, 2013

At Westwood Village theatre, Miles Teller, Skylar Austin, Justin Chon, Sara Wright and many other amazing stars came out to support the fabulous premiere of the new comedy 21 and Over. The place was incredibly packed with screaming teen fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. Press Pass LA was on the red carpet to chat with the cast!

Westwood Village was the perfect place to do the premiere because of its proximity to the UCLA campus and the film’s college vibe. Here’s a brief synopsis in case you aren’t familiar. A college student Jeff Chang (Justin Chon) and is two friends, Casey (Skylar Austin) and Miller (Miles Teller) decide to visit him on his 21st bday. Although Jeff has a huge medical school interview in the morning, it ends up being a night of chaos and debauchery!

I was lucky enough to interview the cast which includes some of Hollywood’s best up and coming talent. Luckily, these rising stars have a wonderful sense of humor and adventure!  Lead actress Sara Wright said that, “My favorite part of the movie was shooting at The Gorge, it was amazing and we actually got to go to a real party and concert there.” Wright continued, “I just wrapped a movie called Walk of Shame with Elizabeth Banks, James Marsden, and Gillian Jacobs. I play Elizabeth’s best friend in the movie. Working with all of them was amazing.  Elizabeth is so smart and talented, and I loved watching her everyday on set; she’s great.”

“Filming the rave scene in the movie was the most excited,” said Justin Chon when we asked him about his favorite scene. Up and coming actress Raquel Torres (who plays Latina Sororiaty Sister #1) who was nearby agreed saying “It was just an incredible scene and wonderful just being part of this movie.”

In addition to the stars, the premiere featured over forty men dressed up in bras and panties running around Westwood to hype up the crowd! The reason for the ‘unmentionables’?  The pink bras and panties mimicked the pair Justin Chon wears in a scene with a strategically placed Teddy Bear. You’ll have to watch to find out!

Other celebrity attendees included Rej3ctz, Cooper Hefner (Hugh Hefner’s son), Riff Raff, Billy Smith, Josh Sussman, Christine Marzano, and Christian Serratos. We spoke with Serratos and Marzano about their work in the upcoming filmParanoia, also being released through Relativity Media. “It’s got a great cast, and it was fantastic working with them. It was a great experience and you can learn a lot from just watching them,” said Serratos reffering to her costars Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford, and Liam Hemsworth. Marzano said, “I enjoyed filming the boardroom scene with Harrison Ford. It is great to see him interact with a bunch of people at one time in a scene and just take command.”

21 & Over opens this Friday March 1st. Watch the trailer here.  Look out for the film Paranoia next!
