Press Pass LA attended Hollywood’s biggest dance party for a cause, the 4th Annual Lights Camera Cure Dance Marathon held at Avalon Hollywood.
Lights Camera Cure is a California-based non-profit founded in 2013 by several individuals affiliated with the Penn State Alumni Los Angeles Chapter (“PSULA”). The mission of Lights Camera Cure is to support children and families battling pediatric cancer by raising funds and awareness for support and research programs through community based fundraising and service activities.
Celebrities that came out to dance the night away for this cause included: Lindsay Arnold (Dancing with the Stars), Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls, Dancing with the Stars), Taylor Spreitler (Melissa & Joey), Lamorne Morris (New Girl), the full cast of Fresh Off the Boat, Devon Werkheiser (Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide), Katherine Hughes (Me and Earl and The Dying Girl), Kenton Duty (Lost, Shake It Up), Gia Mantegna (The Middle, 13 Going on 30), Nick Wechsler (Revenge) and more.
This year’s event benefitted Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA and The Four Diamonds Fund. The dance marathon includes a 6-hour long dance party in which both individuals and teams participate, as well as a one-of-a-kind silent auction. This year’s event raised $101,248.73!
