BEATS BY DRE, LIL WAYNE VMA AFTER-PARTY

The MTV VMA’s were the hottest ticket in town last night so it’s only natural the post parties where equally as alluring. Press Pass LA spent the night celebrating at Playhouse Nightclub in Hollywood for the official launch of Lil Wayne’s first custom Red Beats by Dr. Dre Pro headphones. The evening including a performance by Lil Wayne and a slew of celebrity attendees!

You may have noticed Lil Wayne wearing these signature headphones throughout the VMA broadcast. This after party served both to celebrate the great night in music and as his official launch- there will be an entire line of red Lil Wayne products coming out this fall!  Top celebrities were in attendance including “Jersey Shore” cast members Sammi Giancola, Ronnie Magro and Deena Cortese, LMFAO’s Sky Blu, hip-hop sensation and father-to-be Wiz Khalifa, True Blood’s Janina Gavankar and Cash Money co-founder, Birdman, among many others.

Lil Wayne actually uses these same headphones, by Beats Electronics, in his creative process when he writes his music and lyrics and wanted his fans to be able to experience his music the way he hears it. “It is his way of letting fans into his headspace and to hear his music the same way he composed it in his head,” said a representative. Many of the celebrities (including Sky Blu, pictured) posed with the headphones on the red carpet and Lil Wayne gave out cards to fifty lucky guests who got to take home a pair for themselves.

The party included VIP seating for Wayne’s celebrity guests, open bar, and was hosted by DJ Drama and DJ Stevie J (who flew in from Miami) to get the crowd going! Lil Wayne and Dr. Dre both jumped on stage to perform and sent the crowd through the roof as red confetti poured down in celebration.
