What we love most about Being The Ricardos is how well is showcases women running the show, specifically Lucille Ball. Being The Ricardos took great care in the story it weaves, as it does a glorious job of showcasing the Golden Era of TV in Hollywood. Aaron Sorkin’s film follows Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) during one week of production on the iconic ’50s sitcom I Love Lucy. We’re let into a behind the scenes taste of what making the iconic sit-com was like.

Cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network) chose a Red Ranger camera system with an 8K sensor, to “create a look that had some of the elements of that era.” The result is stunning and you truly do feel transported as you’re swept up in the story. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions. It takes us through such highs and lows you feel as if you’ve lived an entire lifetime with the couple. It’s an exceptional performance by both Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem, to be fair the entire cast is fabulous. We didn’t quite buy any of the make up on Nicole meant to transform her into Lucille Ball, but her acting was so spectacular it is easy to look past it.

In celebration of Being The Ricardos, Amazon studios has teamed up with luxury chocolatier Compartes for a limited edition red velvet chocolate bar that is every bit as decadent as the film. Grab one now before you settle in, after all whats a little Golden Era of Hollywood throwback without a touch of decadence. Did someone say chocolate and champagne? Yes, please. The bar is so decadent, we won’t blame you if you grab two.
