Beyoncé’s dance album has Sasha Fierced itself to the top of the Grammys list: She’s the leading artist at the upcoming 2023 Grammy Awards with nine nominations.
Beyonce’s latest album, Renaissance is up for album of the year while her No. 1 hit, “Break My Soul,” earned bids for song and record of the year. She also earned three R&B nominations, one for her Oscar-nominated track “Be Alive” and another two in the dance category — a first for the singer. Beyoncé’s career total of 88 nominations sets a new record in her discography, one that is also tied by her husband Jay-Z. Jay-Z earned five nominations this year, including two for his work on Renaissance and three for his guest appearance on DJ Khaled’s “God Did.”
Beyoncé is set to make history when the Grammys air on Feb. 5, 2023. As an artist she’s won 28 awards, these latest nominations could see her surpass late conductor Georg Solti’s 31-win record.
