BOBS from Skechers celebrated a key milestone of donating 5 million pairs of shoes to children in need by hosting a Summer Soiree at Skybar at The Mondrian. Guests joined Skechers’ Brand Ambassador, Brooke Burke-Charvet in enjoying music by DJ JayCeeOh, winner of VH1’s “Master of the Mix” 2013, Zing vodka cocktails, and cupcakes by Sweet E’s.

Attendees included: Shenae Grimes, Gretchen Rossi, Valery Ortiz, McKinley Freeman, Bob Guiney, Sean Patrick Flannery, Derek Hough, Crystal Reed, Maitland Ward, Khandi Alexander, Kyle Keller, Jillian Rose Reed, Mollee Gray, Sophie Simmons, Syd Wilder, Kelly Monaco, Kym Johnson, Ali Landry, Brendon Villegas, Nick Simmons, Chris Harrison and more.

We spoke to Brooke Burke-Charvet about the event and how it feels to be the Brand Ambassador for Skechers and she said, “It’s great! I’ve been working with Skechers for a long time but I think this one is a little bit more important because of the charity component. Just a year ago we were celebrating 2 million pairs of shoes so it’s really growing fast. It’s at 5 million so that’s their milestone and I’m so happy that everyone is responding. They make a great product.”

We also had the chance to speak to VH1’s Hit The Floor stars, Mckinley Freeman and Valery Ortiz. McKinley said, “I think that anytime a corporation takes steps to donate millions of pairs of shoes to kids around the world is an amazing thing to celebrate.” Valery felt the same way saying, “Anything that involves kids and doing things for kids who don’t have or need. I’m all about that so, obviously BOBS from Skechers is doing this thing with shoes and you know a kid in need gets a pair when you buy a pair. I just think that’s so cool and so necessary and I mean people love shoes anyway so why not buy and help a company who is going to do something like this.” They are both looking forward to the second season of their hit show!

The main attraction of the event was a shoe bar providing everyone with a free pair of BOBS. For the first time, men are able to also enjoy the shoes with the launch of the “Vulcanized” collection. When you combine cutes shoes and a great cause, it’s guaranteed to be a hit!
