BTS Lands Sixth No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘Proof’.
BTS is Unstoppable. The Korean Pop Group might be taing a break but their music sales aren’t. Proof has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated June 25), garnering the pop group its sixth number one chart-topper. The retrospective album consists mostly of previously released material. In a surprising twist with most record sales going digital, the overwhelming majority of that number one spot was driven by CD album sales (we see you Army, we see you).
The anthology album was released on June 10th, four days before the group announced an indefinite “hiatus” to focus on solo ventures via their YouTube Festa dinner video. The seven-member South Korean act was formed in 2010 and made its U.S. Billboard chart debut in 2013. Next up, ARMY can find J-Hope headlining at Lollapalooza.
