It’s no secret that France is one of the largest fashion powerhouses in the world leading fashion pioneering brands such as Christian Dior, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and let’s not forget Chanel! Yet another great French label, during the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival that was showcased was Parisian designer Vilorija, a luxury brand by Jelena Vulanovic. During Cannes, this art and Fashion event was held at Villa Oxygene at Richard Nilsson’s home in Vallauris, France.
The event showcased Vilorija’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Nilsson has been at the forefront by establishing Cannes Fashion Week and is the founder of Residence Supeoeir, showcasing cosmopolitan events that encompass a flair for fashion, art, and music. Vulanovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia and studied fashion at the esteemed St. Martin College of Art and Design of London. Currently Jelena Vulanovic is Paris based.
In the world of fashion, Vulanovic has been well received at LA Fashion Week, along with Belgrade Fashion Week in Serbia, and all over France. At this societal event, models graced the poolside runway showcasing the seasons’ trends of bold colors, soft floral prints, and flowy ensembles with light, dewy makeup. The line was well received, at the event, with several applauses. For more on Vulanovic’s line visit Vilorija.com.
Media from the world over attended this event that was also an art auction featuring the famed, distinguished works of art including French artist Franck Katz. The auction benefitted the Jackson Family Foundation. Most of the international guests at this art and fashion event were from Europe, Morocco, and Asia to name a few. I ran into Los Angeles based entertainment attorney, Gene Chang, who said “Villa Oxygene is a beautiful and artsy villa located in the heart of the French Riviera with unique one of a kind architecture. At the event I was impressed with the art on display which was reminiscent of Hollywood celebrities.”
Be on the look out for fashion at Villa Oxygene next year at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014!
