Cast for “Bernhardt/Hamlet” Announced at The Geffen Playhouse

Geffen Playhouse announced the full cast for its West Coast premiere of Bernhardt/Hamlet, written by Theresa Rebeck (Dead Accounts, Seminar) and directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George). The production features Golden Globe nominee Diane Venora (Bird, Romeo + Juliet) as Sarah Bernhardt.

In addition to Venora, the cast features Nick Boraine (Homeland, Paradise Stop), Alan Cox (The Dictator, Young Sherlock Holmes), Isaiah Johnson (Hamilton, David Makes Man), Shyla Lefner (Between Two Knees, The Way the Mountain Moved), Raymond McAnally (Size Matters, Marvelous and the Black Hole), Levenix Riddle (The Chi, Carlyle), Paul David Story (The Caine Mutiny Court Martial, Equus), Lucas Verbrugghe (Icebergs, Lazy Eye), and Grace Yoo (Into The Woods, Root Beer Bandits).

Fresh off its Broadway triumph, Theresa Rebeck’s comedy puts the spotlight on a woman who used her singular talent to challenge whether a woman’s place was “to be or not to be” in the greatest role ever written. Tickets start at $30 and they can be purchase directly off of the Geffen’s website, Bernhardt/Hamlet runs April 7- May 10.
