My Top 5 Margarita’s in LA
The Flaming Margarita at El Compadre (Echo Park)
I love baseball and I love going to games. Every time I’m going to Dodger Stadium for a game, I stop at El Compadre for the Flaming Margarita. It’s a classic margarita and it comes with a lime or lemon on fire in the middle. Very good ratio of tequila to margarita mix. I say on the rocks with salt but I’ve heard blended here is good too.
The Cadillac Margarita at Velvet Margarita (Hollywood)
Pretty much the name of this place alone was a win for me but they actually do lots of fantastic margaritas. My personal favorite is the Cadillac Margarita with Casamigos and Grand Marnier. Something about that high end orange liqueur and cognac with the smooth quality of Casamigos is pure perfection in my book. On the rocks and salt for me please.
The Mercado Margarita at Mercados (Hollywood)
This place is great! A classic and contemporary cuisine with local ingredients and a cool vibe. You might want to make reservations though, it gets packed. Can’t go wrong with their Mercado Margarita. Rocks and salt? 100%!
The Casa Vega Margarita at Casa Vega (Sherman Oaks)
A very famous spot for many years and if you’re in the valley, this is the place to go. I’m usually a Cadillac Margarita kind of guy but here I go with their classic Casa Vega Margarita. It is an award winner after all.
The Corona Rita at Anejo Cantina and Grill (Sherman Oaks)
This one is the guilty pleasure but I love it. It’s a solid margarita to begin with and then the mini corona adds a little carbonation and that nice Mexican beer flavor. Fun to share too!
