Claris Health, a community-based agency serving Los Angeles since 1976, hosted their annual City Lights Fundraising Gala at the Skirball Cultural Center on October 19th. Actress and Board Member, Patricia Heaton, debuted their new mobile clinic on site.
The Claris Health mobile clinic marks the non-profits most recent service outreach expansion. It will offer pregnancy testing, early prenatal services, STD testing, general health screenings, and social service referrals to hard-to-reach communities. The clinic will make 27 stops per month including Leimert Park, Vermont Harbor, South LA, Hollywood, Echo Park, Inglewood, Long Beach, Compton, Watts, Lynwood and more.
We spoke to Talitha Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of Claris Health; Actress Patricia Heaton; and the evening’s MC, Sharif Atkins about the new clinic and organization’s mission.
Some of the partner organizations for the Claris Mobile Clinic include Shields for Families, Dream Center Los Angeles; Allies for Every Child, St. Margaret’s Center, PATH, YWCA Sexual Assault Services and more.
