The British are coming! Press Pass LA spent Valentine’s Day at the biggest block party in Los Angeles, the opening of Topshop Topman at The Grove. The festivities included appearances by Kate Bosworth andFifth Harmony and performances by Demi Lovato and Blood Orange.
It was pandemonium when we arrived at The Grove. Hundreds of L.A. locals lined the streets of the shopping center hoping to be among the first customers to shop at the new hotspot (plus receive a gift card if among the first 100) and spot celebrities!
The street fair was complete with a cotton candy booth, a temporary tattoo station, a T-Shirt shop for custom tees, and a grand stage where a DJ worked the crowd before introducing Blood Orange followed by pop icon Demi Lovato. Blood Orange wowed the crowd with his stellar skills on electric guitar, drowned out only by the screams of fans as Demi’s black SUV pulled up. On crutches from a recent injury, Demi made her was to the stage stating she wasn’t going to let anything stop her from being here today and performing for her fans. She belted out her hit “Give Your Heart a Break” displaying her powerhouse vocals and igniting the crowd with energy.
The fun wasn’t over just yet! Suddenly, British cabs pulled down the main street of The Grove and models dressed in head-to-toe Topshop Topman exited the cabs and did a catwalk down the street to the store’s entryway. There, we were greeted by CEO Sir Philip Green, his daughter Chloe, and special guest Kate Bosworth who cut the symbolic ribbon and opened the doors to the store. They were joined by X Factor’s Fifth Harmony and Demi Lovato who posed for photos and then signed autographs for their fans.
It was the perfect way to kick off the three-day President’s weekend which is sure to be filled with lots of shopping!
