Lou’Mar is a dining destination that needs to hit the top of your 2024 dining out experiences. Located in Beverly Hills, this upscale cosy restaurant is a date night must.
Lou’Mar is an innovative restaurant, led by acclaimed chefs Marcos Spaziani and Louis Huh. The menu promises an exquisite blend of tradition and creativity, offering global cuisine right in the heart of Beverly Hills. Lou’Mar ’s design, characterized by its owners, Andy and Carlo Brandon-Gordon as an extension of Nerano, creates an environment that’s both elegant and intimate.
While you mull over the menu, kick off your evening with Lou’Mar’s signature Lou’Margarita. You won’t be sorry as you get to experience the floating foam and smokey flavor profile of this delicious take on the classic margarita.
We kicked off our round of appetizers with Lou’Mar’s Upside Down Tostada. Comprised of fresh Red Snapper ceviche, avocado, red onions, cilantro and aji amarillo this dish is the perfect light and flavorful companion to your dinner.
Next on order was a favorite of ours, their Cripsy Brie. This salad balances healthy and naughty perfectly as the bute sized crispy brie lays on a foundation of arugula. The appetizer is comprised of crispy brie with truffle honey, candied walnuts, radish, and a beautiful bed of arugula topped with an orange mustard foam.
Our first entree arrived, and we couldn’t have been more excited to try Lou’Mar’s take on a classic Spanish Paella dish. This dish is found on the menu as their Kimchi Seafood Paella and it takes a classic dish and reimagines it with a blending of two cultures and flavor profiles that get along just right. The Paella comes filled with mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari, pork belly, green peas, saffron rice, and chicharrones. You can add an additional chicken ($8) or red snapper ($14) to the dish but we opted to have it as is.
If you love lamb you absolutely have to order their Soy Glazed Lamb Chops. The lamb chops come with such a beautiful presentation it’s impossible not to want to photograph them as they arrive to your table. They’re served in a fresh pickled fresno chili with cucumber kimchi, and sauteed beet greens. This dish was for us the main event of the evening and one we will definetly be getting again.
Getting ready to switch our palette, we couldn’t have been more excited to order Lou’Mar’s The George Michael. This gorgeous take on an espresso martini is not to be missed! Peanut butter whiskey meets espresso, irish cream liqueur, cointreau, their house bourbon and a beautiful dehydrated orange as the final flourish. The taste is as stunning as the presentation.
Don’t skip dessert! This beautiful strawberry based treat comes with cotton candy that is torched to reveal a deconstructed strawberry shortcake type surprise that won’t leave your sweet tooth wanting.
