MelrosePlace LA is an elevated and stylish restaurant that should be catching your attention on Melrose Place in west Hollywood.
MelrosePlace LA is a trendy rooftop restaurant in West Hollywood with incredible views and solid cocktails. The vibe gives young Hollywood meets Europe with plenty of great food and drink options to compliment the restaurant’s mood. The rooftop also doubles as a bar and even a seperate event space that both brands and patrons can rent out. They were hosting an 818 Tequila event the evening of our meal, proving that you just never know who you may run into in Los Angeles. The style is dress to impress with a dash of trendy casual.
We kicked off our meal with MelrosePlace LA’s caviar and fries which is a must. If you are a caviar lover like us this mix of high end food and casual is a home run experience for foodies. Not to mention that the freis are perfect. You know when you get a fry that is to crispy even the sauce doesn’t make it mushy? Those are these. The sauce they’re served with consists of chives, red onions, and creme fraîche. Get them, just trust us you won’t be sorry.
We paired our appetizer with their cocktails opting to try their specialities. The drinks are as tasty as they are beautiful. It’s not a stretch to say these might be some of the best cocktails you can find in West Hollywood. Since their cocktail menu does change, we thought that instead of focusing on what’s currently on their speciality cocktail list, we’d share how the quality and creativity of ingredients is incredibly well balanced. They also have a full bar so your drink order is pretty much anything you can dream of.
We proceeded to try their beet salad after feasting on our caviar fries. As devout beet lovers the mix of beets, arugula, and whipped goat cheese alongside the candied walnuts made this salad an instant hit. It’s the perfect compliment to any meal and can be a meal on it’s own. Because we were sharing, it was more of a shared plate experience but as a standalone this dish can absolutely be a perfect option for lunch or a light dinner.
For dinner we tried their salmon two ways. The portion is honestly perfect for sharing. One of the salmon is poached and the other has tempura served on a bed of sushi rice with umami broth.
For our final dinner entree we decided to splurge on this dinner choice and indulge our inner pasta lover with their spicy pasta alla vodka. What can we say? It was so delicious, this dish is the perfect pairing of spice where you have just a hint with the calabrian chili where it doesn’t overwhelm the overall experience of the dish’s flavor.
Now, the star of the evening. For dessert we finished our evening with Melrose Place LA’s espresso martini, fresh baked cookies and their strawberry shortcake dessert. This might be the best strawberry shortcake we’ve ever had. If you just want to grab a drink and dessert Melrose Place LA’s dessert menu with their view is the perfect excuse to indulge your sweet tooth.
