Dinner Diaries: Nerano Unveils New Winter Menu

As we head into holiday season, food is top of everyone’s mind (and mouth)! Nerano Beverly Hills unveiled their new winter menu and we suggest you make your reservations now.

The venue has a gorgeous back patio that is tented with heated lamps and chandeliers. It feels like walking into a winter wonderland. We were greeted by welcome drinks-  a Citrus Elegante made with gin, Montenegro Amaro, and fresh grapefruit juice to start the evening.

For the first course we tried the Crudo Trio with ahi tuna, salmon and pacific yellowtail that was fresh and light and the perfect start to a night of feasting. Next up was a Burrata Caprese with the creamiest burrata we’ve ever tried and heirloom tomatoes, basil, oregano and pink salt. Executive Chef Michele Lisi said the burrata was flown in from Puglia, Italy.

Have no fear, we didn’t go to an Italian restaurant and not try the pizza! The Pizza Fumé with smoked provola cheese, mild Italian sausage, porcini mushrooms, and rosemary was a mushroom lovers dream.

For the pasta dishes, we tried their delicious Oreccchiette Salsiccia e Rapini made with broccoli rabe, mild italian sausage and fresh parmigiano reggiano cheese. While this was a tasty dish you should definitely try, we were most impressed with the Pappardelle alla Genovese made with pappardelle pasta, onion-beef Genovese sauce and parmigiano reggiano. This was to die for!

The main course included Pan Seared Halibut, Iranian saffron crema and sauteed red cabbage which was perhaps our least favorite item of the night but still a good selection if you want a light fish option. There was also a Half Jidori Chicken with peewee potatoes in a dijon mustard sage sauce with spinach.

To end the evening, were two delicious desserts- the traditional Olive Oil Rosemary Cake and Nocciolino, a dark chocolate mouse with hazelnut, gelato and Italian meringue.

There are a lot of Italian restaurants in Los Angeles and after almost twenty years in the city, we weren’t prepared to be as impressed as we were with the delicious food and ambiance.
