DPA GOLDEN GLOBES GIFT SUITE

The New Year means that awards season for TV, music, and movies is upon us. And the best part about all this – besides the in-depth analysis about the clothes – are the gift bags given to Golden Globes nominees. DPA invited Press Pass LA to the Golden Globe Gift Lounge at the Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The following companies are in the gift bags at the 2014 Golden Globes, and every item made me upset I didn’t pursue acting beyond a gen-ed class in college!

Ohyo:

Ohyo, an eco-friendly British company, is gifting out “The Collapsabottle,” a dishwasher-safe, BPA-free collapsible rubber water bottle. In its collapsed state, it is barely 2 inches, if that, and can fit in your pocket. However, when fully expanded, it can hold up to 16 oz. of liquid. A plastic spout at the end makes drinking a cinch.

The Yes Bar:

Many of us have said yes to the dress, but…yes to the bar? The Yes Bar is a gluten-free, GMO-free, snack bar company started by Abigal Wald. Ms. Wald provided all press with samples of two flavors: coffee cayenne, and macadamia chocolate chip. She created these bars for people who have dietary restrictions to be able to say “yes…I can have this.” These delicious bars are a perfect snack for anyone at Runyan Canyon who is looking to hike off their Globe hangovers!

Toffee Talk:

Toffee Talk was voted “The Best Toffee in America” at the 5th Annual Taste Awards, and with the almond-infused samples that were being handed out, it’s easy to see why. They are the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Gluten-free and based in San Francisco, Toffee Talk is routinely ordered by Google and Pixar.

White Girl Salsa:

Coming in flavors like cranberry-mango and smokey chipotle, White Girl Salsa more than lives up to its motto: Fresh Taste: Instant Sassiness. Foxy’s Pash Premium Frozen Yogurt:

Low in fat and sugar? Gluten-free? Kosher? To paraphrase one of my all-time favorite party songs: “Pash the yogurt to the left-hand side!” I taste-tested their Mango & Passionfruit Smoothie flavor, and it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I may have become a newfound “Pash-ionista.” Others flavors are Wild Berry & Chocolate Flakes, Honeycomb & Caramel Chunks, Vanilla Bean & Strawberry Hunks.

Hzurdadi Denim Co.:

I’ll save you the trouble of figuring out how to pronounce the company’s name. It’s “who’s your daddy.” It took everyone at the gifting lounge a minute to figure it out. But the company’s ultra-lightweight denim scarves, many of which feature chic and funky patterns sewn on the reverse side, are really cool and soft.
