Egg Factor Docu-Series World Premiere in Los Angeles Shines a Light on Egg Donation and Surrogacy

A new groundbreaking docuseries, EGG FACTOR pulls back the curtain on the use of egg donation and surrogacy to create today’s modern families.

Egg Factor chronicles 10 diverse couples who created families by using another woman’s egg through egg donation and surrogacy. The series is set to debut on CBS in 2020 and they held a preview screening and World Premiere in Los Angeles this week at Raleigh Studios. All parties in the film used leading agency, Gifted Journeys

With more and more celebrities sharing their stories of difficulties conceiving, including our very own former First Lady, Michelle Obama, who spoke candidly about her painful and personal struggle trying to conceive her two beautiful daughters, Malia and Sasha. Celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Andy Cohen and Gabrielle Union have chosen surrogacy and publicly shared their stories. In fact, in the US today, about 6.1 million women under the age of 44 face infertility.

Executive Producers Lara Sarkissian and Alen Tarassians hope the series shines a light on this very important issue that until recently was rarely in the public eye.

The screening featured two episodes that starred Kacy Andrews and Jack Messitt, who candidly shared their story of conception via surrogacy for their twin sons, Fox and Dashiell Messitt, stars of the hit Netflix series, Fuller House.

The emotional storytelling component of Egg Factor was felt around the room as the journey that unfolded with all of the trials of alternative birthing options showed exactly how tumultuous such a process can be.

The screening was followed by a Q&A panel moderated by Media Personality & Mother, Vanessa Barnett of Access Live. Vanessa led the discussion between the panel of producers; CEO of Gifted Journeys, Wendie Wilson-Miller; and the show participants, Kacy Andrews, Jack Messitt, and Dr. Vic Sahakian, to gain further insight on the project and to discuss what type of social impact Egg Factor can have regarding stigmas behind surrogacy and egg donation. The evening ended with a reception catered by Vegan Cuisine by Chef Sandra and beverage sponsor, Brew Dr. Kombucha.
