We had the pleasure of attending “An Evening With Women,” an event produced by Linda Perry to benefit the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. The event is one of the premiere LGBT events in Los Angeles, shining a spotlight on lesbians and bisexual women and their allies. Hosted by Kathy Griffin, the evening consisted of a cocktail reception, dinner, auction and performances by some of the biggest names in the industry at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.\

This year’s performers included Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabath), Natasha Bedingfield (“Pocketful of Sunshine,” “Unwritten”) and Austrailan singer/songwriter, Sia (“Titanium”). Walking the red carpet and showing their support were: Kelly Osbourne (Fashion Police), Sharon Osbourne (The Talk), Sara Gilbert (The Talk), Francesca Eastwood (Final Girl), Martyn Lawrence Bullard (Million Dollar Decorator), Perez Hilton, Jessica Clark (True Blood), Teri Polo (The Fosters), Sherri Saum (The Fosters) and many more.

We spoke to actress, Teri Polo about her new upcoming show on ABC Family, The Fosters, a series about a bi-racial, lesbian couple (with Sherri Saum) raising their adoptive and biological children together. Teri said, “It’s about a family and dealing with teenagers. Oh and we just happen to be lesbian moms. It’s about real life stories…We’re here to represent, we’re here to support, we’re here to do whatever we can.”

Sara Gilbert who is engaged to Linda Perry, came out to show her support saying, “It’s just inspiring to see what she does without expecting anything back. And it’s also amazing to see what the center does. It’s an impressive organization because of what they do. I’m looking forward to watching all of Linda’s work pay off and the performers.”

Perez Hilton beamed about his new baby, Mario and how much he loves being a father. “I’m with him all the time, I work from home and I couldn’t be happier. I’m not juggling. My baby is the priority, he comes first and everything else tries to fit into my life and schedule, but baby comes first.”

This is an awesome event for an even more awesome cause. Linda Perry did a fantastic job at producing it and lots of people came out to show their support. The hilarious host for the evening, Kathy Griffin said, “The lesbians are tough to make laugh. I want the lesbians to laugh like gay men do. That’s right! I’m not judging your sexual orientation but I’m just saying for one night, laugh like a gay man.” Let’s hope that Kathy was able to get her wish!
