Exciting News! Jennifer Garner Set To Return As Elektra For ‘Deadpool 3’

Suit up super nerds! Jennnifer Garner is sliding back into her one piece as her iconic character Elektra for the upcoming Deadpool 3 film.

It has been so long, nearly a 20-year hiatus to be exact, since Jennifer Garner donned the role of Marvel Comics’ assassin antiheroine Elektra. Now, she’s suiting up once again for Deadpool 3. The Marvel Studios production is currently shooting, with Ryan Reynolds reprising his fan-favorite part of the fourth wall-breaking Merc with a Mouth. Hugh Jackman has even come out of Marvel retirement to reprise his tole as Wolverine for the film. This film is gearing up to be the most epic Deadpool installment yet! Shawn Levy is in the director’s chair with the project to be the first movie that will feature a character, or in this case, two or three or more, from the character contracts that once belonged to 20th Century Fox. 

Jennifer Garner first played the Marvel assassin in 20th Century Fox’s Daredevil, in the 2003 feature that starred Ben Affleck as the Man Without Fear. While the film was not a hit, it did spawn a spinoff, that saw Jennifer Garner starring as Elektra in a solo film two years later. That too, was not a box office success, but it was noteworthy as Jennifer Garner was one of the few women to lead a studio comic book movie. Her involvement in Deadpool 3 was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter in an exclusive. The role of Elektra itself hints at some sort of multiverse angle to the film that has long been rumored, and it is possible that other characters from Marvel films made by Fox could pop up.
