Changing leaves, cooler weather, billboards-galore-promoting-every-season-premiere-on-every-network…yup, it must be fall!  So buh-bye reruns of Community.  You’ve got some competition.  Here is what I am super excited about this season (and I hope you are too!)…

Terra Nova (Fox, 8pm, premieres 9/26): “From executive producer Steven Spielberg…” is a show intro that never gets old.  In this Back to the Future-meets-Land of the Lost experiment, Fox ventures into sci-fi with an enormous budget.  And who doesn’t want to see what the year 2149 will look like?

The Playboy Club (NBC, 10pm, premieres 9/19): If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Mad Men, consider yourself flattered.  But what The Playboy Club may lack in originality, it’ll (hopefully) make up for in trashy fun.  So grab a drink, shake your bunny tail, and strut right into 1960’s Chicago.  Plus, David Krumholtz (Numb3rs) is back on TV – how bad can that be?

2 Broke Girls (CBS, 8:30pm, premieres 9/26): Like starring in her own NBC show wasn’t enough, Whitney Cummings just had to create another comedy.  And between her and Sex and the City’s Michael Patrick King, 2 Broke Girls has a good pedigree going for it…not to mention the always fun Kat Dennings (The House Bunny) and CBS’s more-than-decent track record for classic sitcoms.

New Girl (Fox, 9pm, premieres 9/20): A just-dumped chickadee needs a fresh start…which she (of course) finds with a perfect batch of new, single-camera friends.  Okay, so the plot isn’t the greatest, but I do love me some Zooey Deschanel, and the pilot has gotten props from the Critics’ Choice Television Awards.

Suburgatory (ABC, 8:30pm, premieres 9/28): I know, you’re like, “Enough with the comedy recos.”  Agreed, but this actually looks cute…or at least the cast does.  Jeremy Sisto and Cheryl Hines star in what could be a fun fish-out-of-water (and by “water,” I mean “New York City”) story.

Up All Night (NBC, 8pm, premieres 9/21): This might be on my “To Watch” list because of a promo where Will Arnett and Christina Applegate reveal that in the chaos of having a baby, they forgot they had a cat.  It made me laugh.  And now, I will watch!

Whitney (NBC, 9:30pm, premieres 9/22): If Bridesmaids taught us anything, it’s that ladies can be funny.  (And also, don’t eat Mexican food before trying on dresses.)  But mostly that ladies can be funny.  Enter, Whitney – the only new entry to NBC’s Thursday night comedy lineup, and a potentially good girly antidote to the often dude-esque nature of The Office.

How To Be a Gentleman (CBS, 8:30pm, premieres 9/29): Entourage isn’t even cold yet, and Kevin Dillon’s already got another gig.  Well, fair enough, Drama.  How To Be a Gentleman appears to be nothing more than a modern Odd Couple, but I’ll give it one episode.

Pan Am (ABC, 10pm, premieres 9/25): By far my #1 most anticipated show this season.  Yes, it’s got Don Draper written all over it, but compared to The Playboy Club, Pan Am’s subject matter will hopefully offer a little more depth.  From the executive producers of ER and The West Wing, the DNA seems solid and the promos look great.  Boarding pass?  Yes please!
