GERARD BUTLER, MACHINE GUN PREACHER

PPLA correspondent Michelle Romano caught up with Gerard Butler at the Machine Gun Preacher premiere in Los Angeles. Gerard brings the real-life story of Sam Childers to the screen in this inspirational film. Find out why this was his ‘passion project’.

Butler plays Sam Childers, an ex-gang member and former drug-dealing criminal, who makes a life changing decision when he travels to East Africa to help repair homes destroyed by civil war. While there, he embarks on a personal journey of transformation and becomes the unlikely savior of over a thousand Sudanese orphans who faced disease, enslavement, and starvation, many of whom were even forced to become young soldiers.  This film also stars Michelle Monaghan.
