All About The Globes: Party Edition

Alright, it’s a new year, and all our favorite celebrities are gearing up to look their best at the 2018 Golden Globes. The actual award ceremony aside, our favorite stars are going to be rocking out at these incredible parties.

Official kick off January 4th:

Golden Globes week ( which lets be real, Stars gear up for a week leading up to the awards with events) kicks off this Thursday. First up on the awards season party circuit is: W Magazine & Audi party at Chateau Marmont. The event is hosted by W’s Stefano Tonchi. The party includes dinner and lite bites, along with VIP rides to and from the event from Audi. Also patterning with W this year is Dior and Dom Perignon.

DPA also has it’s annual gifting suite this Thursday January 4th. The suite is located in Beverly Hills per usual.

January 5th:

AFI presents it’s prestigious luncheon at The Four Seasons hotel. The AFI Awards celebrate the 10 most outstanding achievements in the art of moving pictures for 2017. AFI honors the 10 best films and tv shows of the previous year, and the luncheon is sponsored by Audi. This year the luncheon will also feature a special award for ‘The Vietnam War’. Films being honored this year are: The Big Sick, Call Me By Your Name, Dunkirk, The Florida Project, Get Out, Lady Bird, The Post, The Shape of Water, The Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Wonder Woman, and in tv: Big Little Lies, The Feud: Bette and Joan, The Crown, Game of Thrones, The Good Place, The Handmaid’s Tale, Insecure, Master of None, Stranger Things 2, and This Is Us.

Turn up for Moët & Chandon! The official champagne of the ceremony rings in the festival with a #moetmoment of their own. It will be the brands 3rd annual Moët moment film festival. We can’t wait to see the judges final selections. This year the judges are: Billie Lourd, Laura Dern, Anke Hoffman, Kisha Imani Cameron, Leslie Urdang, Sharon Badal, and Violaine Etienne.

The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts presents it’s annual awards event this Friday as well. Nominees are: Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Greta Gerwig, Christopher Nolan, Allison Janney, Gary Oldman, Frances McDormand, and William DaFoe. This awards ceremony is telecast in Australia exclusively on Foxtel Arts.

Esquire decks out Mike and Irena Medavoy’s private home with Maserati for their annual soiree. And you can expect stars like Armie Hammer, Sylvestre Stallone and more to be in attendance.

Saturday January 6th:

Film Independent is celebrating their indie film stars and creators at BOA Steakhouse on Sunset blvd this year. This is their annual brunch, hosted by Jon Cho and Alia Shawkat.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts hosts their annual tea party at the Four Seasons. Their nominee list is so impressive, we hope to be a fly on the wall. Among some nominated are Helen Mirren, Claire Foy, Caitriona Balfe, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor and more.

ICM Partners is proud to honor their clients responsible for ‘A Handmaid’s Tale’ including the original book’s author Margaret Atwood. And of course, the series creator and show runner: Bruce Miller. The series is up for best Actress ( Elizabeth Moss) and television series in the drama category.

Art of Elysium’s Heaven brings to fruition it’s 11th annual soiree for charity. This non-profit which will honor John Legend as the 2018 visionary recipient. Actress Shanola Hampton will take home the Spirit of Elysium trophy. The event will be held at Barkar Hangar in Santa Monica. Showtime is back after a year’s hiatus. They are proud to celebrate 5 Golden Globe nominations! congratulations to the network, they have been excelling in content. We look forward to all the jubilant celebrations of the night!

Sunday Jan 7th:

HFPA & Dick Clark Productions present their annual viewing & after party. The event kicks off at 2:30pm for viewing and 8pm for the party. It’s exciting to hear that for the first time ever the HFPA ( Hollywood Foreign Press Association) will offer same night engravings for the winners. This takes place at the Beverly Hilton of course, in their ‘Wilshire Garden’ room.

HBO is literally our favorite party, they are also returning for their annual gifting suite on Friday January 5th. This year’s post Globes event will be held at Circa 55. You can expect all the top stars to show and of course our highly anticipated favorites from Game of Thrones will be in attendance. Since we have to wait until 2019 for GOT to grace our lives again, this is a great peek, since we miss them on screen.

Fox is hosting their annual post bash at The Fox Terrace. We see what they did there, how appropriate. This party is quite large as the studio hosts a joint party for 20th Century Fox, FX, National Geographic, Fox Searchlight, and Hulu.

Amazon is hosting their bash at the Beverly Hilton as well, in the hotel’s Stardust Ballroom.

Netflix is doing up their year of massive wins and nominations by moving the party to the Waldorf-Astoria. They have parted ways with The Weinstein Company ( haven’t we all?) and is striking out on their own in style.

Focus Features is also hosting their own bash this year. They are thrilled to celebrate the stars of Victoria & Abdul, Darkest Hour, and Phantom Thread.

Warner Brothers Pictures is pairing with InStyle Magazine and throwing a “reimagined twist on French Baroque Style” party. This lavish event will surely be le crème de la crème post Globes this coming Sunday.
