The Grammy Nominations Concert Live- Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night took place on Friday, Dec. 6th, giving attendees and viewers a slight taste of what’s to come when the actual Grammy Awards take place on January 26th, 2014.
In true Grammy fashion, LL Cool J hosted the hour long concert, celebrating with guests; Kelly Rowland, Ed Sheeran, Enrique Iglesias and blast-from-the-past, Arsenio Hall.
Mackelmore started the concert off right with his single, “Thrift Store.” The rapper rolled through the aisles as adoring fans flashed their cameras, trying to capture the perfect shot.
“His energy was amazing!” Audience member, Kalissa Moore said. “The choreography and shopping carts were a nice added touch to his stage performance.”
New Zealand pop artist, Lorde, sang her famous “Royals” single, taking the stage with a video track playing in the background. The video included numerous men sharing the same likeness, with a red liquid that depicted blood, smeared on their head and face. Lorde’s vocals were top notch as she bellowed into a cheering crowed.
Other performers include Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Miguel. The show is the prelude to next year’s 56th Grammys.
