The Humane Society of the United States hosted t its 60th Anniversary Benefit Gala to celebrate six decades of driving transformational change for animals. Proceeds of the event benefitted The HSUS’ Companion Animals and Farm Animal Protection campaigns.
Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and a gourmet vegan dinner, followed by a live auction and evening program at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with performances by Taryn Manning and Sia. The HSUS honored those people and projects that have propelled animal welfare issues into mainstream society including: Blackfish Documentary Filmmaker Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Impact Award), Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. (Humane GovernorAward), James Cromwell (Lifetime Achievement Award), and Paul Wesley (Humane Generation Award).
