Here and Now is an epic little bar located in DTLA’s arts district. The owner curates an incredible Christmas bar every year called Blitzen’s for the holiday season.
Don’t miss out on Blitzen’s Bar which has been transformed with a festive cocktail and food menu, alongside decorations that transport you to the North Pole. And yes, snow is included! Don’t miss Here and Now’s festivities which run through December 31st. If you head to their website be sure to click on the calendar for daily events. The owner is so festive she has curated daily events including holiday movies, a snow day, Santa night, Drag Queen Bingo, a holiday onesie day, and game nights to celebrate the holidays well into the month of December. Trust us, check the calendar to see what fun she has planned for the night of your visit. You can still catch “Lazy Sunday in your PJs happening on the 29th. In addition, Blitzen’s has once again teamed up with PATH, giving a free cup of punch to anyone who brings in a quart-sized Ziploc of toiletries. We loved Blitzen’s because of all the heartfelt attention to details. Even the stockings strung across the top of the bar are individually labeled after each and every single one of their employees. Don’t let this festive spot pass you by.
Here are some of our favorites from our recent visit to Blitzen’s. The menu is special, curated every single year with new themes and items.
Our absolute favorite food item was their baked brie. We died for this meal item, honestly if we can bottle this happiness it could change the world. Don’t miss the brie when you come to Blitzen’s.
Check out “Put On Your Yarmulke” with Monkey Shoulder, Manischewitz, Grapefruit Cordial, Allspice Dram, Aquafaba, Lime, and Bitters.
“Christmas Poutine” with pulled turkey, house gravy, cheese curds, and bay leaf cranberry.
Don’t skip Blitzen’s mulled wine. This was our favorite drink on the menu. We also loved the winking Santa detail on the mugs.
Pro-tip for our die hard foodies. You can order a burger or an impossible burger which aren’t featured on the menu, but are a hidden item. Make sure to specify any topping you want on your burger (the only hiccup we encountered was a completely plain impossible burger). Since it is a hidden item, be specific if you’d like cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. But it is well worth it. We loved the impossible burger.
