Dinner Diaries: Jalapeño Petes
Cha cha cha! It’s another Tuesday and we have just the gem for you! Jalapeño Petes in Studio City is a must stop here in LA.
First of all we raved about them on our instagram already, for National Margarita Day. And with good reason! Their margaritas are rimmed like none we’ve ever had the pleasure of sampling. They use grapefruit, and a variety of other secret ingredients to create a spicy yet slightly sweet rim on their homemade mixture. Try whatever you need to off their drink menu, but you can’t leave there without at least one margarita. You’ll thank us later.
The tacos are unbelievable. We tried one of each, after all thorough research is hard work, but someone has to make sure you’re getting the very best. They even have vegan friendly taco options, so you don’t have to leave anyone behind. The shrimp taco and the carnitas are hands down the winning favs. But…we’re not gonna lie meat lover or not the avocado taco is the bomb.com. As in please, put all of them in our body through an iv if necessary. The street tacos are super price friendly and range from $3 to $3.50 and the taco Tuesday deals are unbelievable. You’ll just have to go to find out what they are. We’ll leave you in suspense, so you can come back and rave to us about the deals and flavors.
If you’re not in the mood for tacos you have to try their chicken flautas. WOW. We mean WOW! So goooooood! Alot of Mexican places in LA tend to give you flat, over fried flautas, with chicken thats over cooked from the frying. These are literally perfect. The chicken is so juicy and they are just crispy enough, that you’ll find them undeniable.
Dessert…don’t skip it. Do it. Play an extra round of their jumbo Jenga or Connect Four if you get anxiety from the toppling menace that Jenga can be, and order dessert! We ordered the Churros and we’re obsessed. They’re filled with caramel and just the perfect ratio of sugar and cinnamon. Don’t skip it. Just don’t.
