The Paley Center for Media presented the latest selection of its acclaimed PaleyLive series, An Evening with Shrinking, at The Writers Guild Theater in Los Angeles. Jason Segal, Harrison Ford, Brett Golstein and more were in attendance.
The highly anticipated evening featured an advanced screening of the season two penultimate episode ahead of its December 18 premiere.
It was then followed by a discussion with select cast members and creative team including: Jason Segel (Jimmy), Writer & Executive Producer; Harrison Ford (Dr. Paul Rhoades); Bill Lawrence, Writer & Executive Producer; Brett Goldstein (Louis), Writer & Executive Producer; Jessica Williams (Gaby); Michael Urie (Brian); Luke Tennie (Sean); Christa Miller (Liz); Lukita Maxwell (Alice); and Ted McGinley (Derek). The discussion was moderated by actor Zach Braff.
During the Q&A, Harrison Ford who rarely does television, recalled when Brett Goldstein sent him a script for consideration and instantly was attracted to the writing – “a combination of drama and silly stuff; the secret sauce of the show.”
Jason Segel discussed the shows themes and commented on how life can sometimes be messy. He praised the show’s writers for brilliantly creating complicated storylines- “Life is so clumsy, it would be easy if there were villains but there aren’t.”
In good news for fans, EP Bill Lawrence shared that while seasons one and two focused on grief and forgiveness, respectively, the upcoming third season will focus on “moving forward.” He stated, “ I believe that there’s more stories to be told with this group.”
We couldn’t agree more! This hilarious and heart-warming show is a must watch.
