Kick Off Festival Season with Okeechobee 2018

We are less than a week away from the first highly anticipated festival of the new year, taking place in Okeechobee, Florida From March first through the fourth, expect music greatness to begin down on the ‘Sunshine State’.  Those looking for a last minute weekend getaway can still get tickets and camping by visiting, it’s not too late to take in all Okeechobee has to offer.  If the bustle and grind of LA is dragging you down, enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Aquachobee Beach, a daytime hangout with a swimming lake and sand beaches. It is also home to the Bamboo Beach stage where LA’s own Poolside will be showcasing their daytime disco vibes Friday evening. After some fun in the sun continue to unwind at ChobeeWobee Village, an extensive yoga area complete with a healing sanctuary, an earth arts academy, and a psychedelic tea forest tucked into the trees.

Now that you’ve spent the day spiritually recharging, head over to The Grove where the Be, Here, and Now stages are located to take in all the jazz, funk, hip-hop, folk rock, and electronic dance music that the nights will provide.  Some other local talent that will be featured throughout the weekend are Foster the People, Blackbear, Chicano Batman, Allah-Las, and some guy by the name of Snoop Dog performing with a PoWow.  The PoWow is a unique experience to Okeechobee that combines multiple artists from various groups to put a new spin on old school classics.  Snoop will be headlining alongside The Roots, with performances by Chaka Khan, Joey Badass, Dominic Lalli, Trombone Shorty and Corey Henry; this one time collaboration is worth the price of admission itself!  Plenty of up and coming artists will be on display so take the opportunity to become a new fan of Hiss Golden Messenger, Shallou, or Magic City Hippies.  Of course everyone will be flocking to headliners Arcade Fire, Halsey, Travis Scott, and Bassnectar, all of whom know how to put on a fantastic performance, but the middle acts have some hidden gems amongst them.  Three groups not to be missed are Big Gigantic, Thievery Corporation, and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.  The pure musicianship and talent that these artists display will bring you a new appreciation for instruments you don’t get to hear on the regular.  If all of that isn’t enough, Jungle 51 offers the insomniacs a place to surf the sonic waves in the heart of the tropical forest until four o’clock in the morning.

It’s not too late to kick the festival season off right by taking a trip to beautiful Sunshine Grove in Okeechobee, Florida next weekend.  Be it to support local talent, discover new favorites, or to just lose yourself in all the good vibes and jams, don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime experience!  Purchase your GA and camping tickets at, and we’ll see you on the other side of the portal.
