Summer season is here! So, get ready and get excited for Marina Del Rey Hotel’s July Fourth Red, White and BBQ Celebration! We kicked off our holiday with the picturesque Marina views compliments of The Marina Del Rey Hotel. Ringing in July 4th was so fun! We were soaking up sun at the oceanfront pool and snacking on BBQ favorites fresh from the grill. Salt restaurant curated a special menu just for the big day. The Event Lawn will hosted a Beer Garden featuring samplings from 16 breweries, live music, and fun for all ages, including a water balloon toss, pie-eating contest. We sipped on Frozé all day then headed inside for an impromptu whiskey tasting and lite bites from Salt’s expertly curated menu. We enjoyed the whiskey and found out that the hotel boasts their own barrel at Knob Creek in Tennessee. How cool is that!? You can drink fine whiskey made especially for this little marina front restaurant thats a gem you’ve been missing on your date night adventures, or ladies night out.
Check out some of our adventures in food + whiskey tasting from this July 4th.
Our first suspect on the menu was this delightful avocado hummus. It’s served with naan and veggie crudité. Pro-Tip- Order the octopus and dip it in the avocado hummus you won’t be disappointed.
Speaking of octopus:
Look at the perfection on this dish! We were over the moon for the flavorful profile this Spanish Octopus provided. Served with brussel sprouts, hazelnuts, and golden raisins tossed in a ‘Kung Lao’ sauce, it is not to be missed. Theres nothing better than delectable seafood and an ocean front view. Which luckily, Salt has both in spades.
Here is the Whiskey we mentioned above, you have to give this private label a try! This whiskey is meant to be sipped, enjoy the burn as the flavor profile develops.
This smokey whiskey is poured over a coffee ice cube. The flavor profile changes as you sip, and it’s paired with currants. Check out the pour over on our IG.
We stayed the day and experienced the best view of the fireworks show right from the pool deck, beginning at 9 p.m. with synchronized music.
