LA Food Bowl Preview: Chefs Joe Perez and Rebecca Merhej Talk “Next Gen”

We sat down with  chefs Joe Perez (Winsome) and Rebecca Merhej (Love & Salt) in advance of their “Next Gen” event at LA Food Bowl to discuss the upcoming month-long celebration of food and their popular eateries!

Who doesn’t love to be in the know on the hottest restaurants in Los Angeles!  One of the best ways to check out all the best food and chefs on the rise is to attend the Los Angeles Times Food Bowl in May. This annual, month long festival celebrates the city’s dynamic food scene.

The best part? The festival also supports food access, sustainability and waste reduction through charity partners L.A. Kitchen, Food Forward and Midnight Mission.

We’ve had our eye on Winsome, located on Sunset Boulevard in Chinatown, and Love and Salt, positioned in the heart of Manhattan Beach, for some time.  Check out what Joe and Rebecca had to share about what makes their restaurants so special!

Both Joe and Rebecca will be participating in the “Next Gen” event during Food Bowl which celebrates the next crop of culinary talent in Los Angeles and features bowling teams that will compete for the title of FOOD BOWL champion!

Guests can enjoy a selection of bites, sips and pours, and music, plus a chance to meet the other participating chefs including Darren Sayphraraj (We Have Noodles), Ray Hayashi (Fishing With Dynamite), Miles Thompson (Michael’s) and L.A. Times Deputy Food Editor, Jenn Harris.

The LA Times Food Bowl is sponsored by Citi® along with Nissan, Maker’s Mark, Hornitos and the Italian National Tourist Board. For more information, please visit lafoodbowl.com and connect on socials  @LAfoodbowl #LAfoodbowl #31DaysOfFood.
