LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN VEGAS

It’s labor day weekend and you know what that means- one last chance to have an all-out summer party before tanning season comes to a close! So why not do it in Vegas! Press Pass LA was recently in Sin City and here is our guide of what not to miss!

So book your flight, fill your tank with gas, call in sick…whatever you have to do, just leave N-O-W!!!

THURSDAY

Start the weekend of right- it’s all about The Bellagio. Have a few drinks at the sophisticated Lily Bar & Lounge to kickstart the evening (try the signature Lily cocktail ) and then party until the sun comes up at The Bank Nightclub. Las Vegas Weekly will be celebrating their ‘Nightlife Issue’ with music by DJ Ikon and a hosted bar by Stoli Elit Vodka. Free entry with RSVP here!

FRIDAY

Still recovering from your time zone change, desert drive, or the all-around, all-night rager from night ‘numero uno’…sounds like a good time to lounge by the pool. It’s Summer Camp Fridays (from 11am to 7pm) hosted by DJ Z-Trip at the Hard Rock Hotel. If you like what you hear, don’t forget to vote for Z Trip who placed third this past year in the America’s Best DJ competition.  We caught up with Z Trip in LA both at The Avalon and at the Transmissions LA: AV Club at MOCA, check out our review. And if you think you’re up for round two at The Bank, you can catch Brooklyn-born DJ Sinatra back over at The Bellagio in the evening.

But if you’re in the mood to catch an edgy, intimate show, we suggest seeing a modern day- Sinatra over at Caesars Palace- Matt Goss. This dreamy chrooner will put you in the mood for romance. He is playing in the Gossy Room at Cleopatra’s Barge. Check out our review and video interview for Matt Goss Live. And if you really want to go ‘rat-pack’ era try to score tickets to Tony Bennett’s one night only show also at Caesars Palace at The Colosseum.

SATURDAY

Feeling Sensual? Why not have a romantic Italian dinner at Nove at the Palms Hotel and then head over to the New York, New York and check out Zumanity- the Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil. This show will definitely put you in the mood. Read our Zumanity review if you’re not convinced you can handle the heat!

Or perhaps this is a girls night out? In that case, I’d grab some sushi over at TAO at The Venetian (we were just at the hotel for Tim McGraw & Faith Hill’s Soul 2 Soul announcement) and then check out Absinthe over at Caesars Palace, we guarantee this show (read our review) will bring new meaning to the term ‘sock puppets’ and have you in tears (of laughter, of course!)

SUNDAY

Sunday Funday! Start the morning off with brunch at Wicked Spoon at The Cosmopolitan. There’s nothing like good food to satisfy cravings and help the hurt of the night before! Then it’s back to lounge poolside and for this I have two words- David Guetta.

He’s had just a few hit songs and collaborations this year- “Sexy Bitch” with Akon, “Where Them Girls At” with Nicki Minaj, and his latest “Titanium” with Sia. This master of beats will be playing two poolside sets at the Encore Beach Club at the Wynn Hotel,  so I suggest you pack some sun block and your hottest bikini.

Looking for some fun evening entertainment, why not see blonde bombshell Holly Madison in her final run at Peep Show at Planet Hollywood. We gave her show a rave review both for the laughs and the sexy stripteases! If country is more your style, check out Sugarland at the Mandalay Bay as part of their weekend long Beach Concert Series and be sure to get their early to see opening act Tyler Hilton. Check out our video interview with Tyler about his music and this show!

Feeling a post-show night cap? We walked across the street for a drink at The Chandelier Bar (back at The Cosmopolitan).

MONDAY

I know what you are thinking, I should be packing up and heading home, right? But if you are going to party, go out strong! Be sure to stick around for Deadmau5 who is spinning poolside back at Encore Beach Club and of course for Marquee Mondays! (at the Cosmopolitan)

During the Marquee Day Club, we have the English trance music group Above & Beyond (we reviewed their show at the Hollywood Palladium) as well as Mat Zo, and in the evenings we have Dutch DJ Hardwell. Monday night at Marquee was our favorite stop on our nightclub tour, so plan to call in sick on Tuesday or take the first flight in the am. Heck, drive all night and beat the traffic!
