Though some may dub this the age of electronic music, photographers Neil Zlozower, Stephen Stickler, and Sean Murphy are keeping rock and roll alive and well through their unique perspective and exquisite lenses. Limited Runs and MOPLA joined forces to bring Angelenos a private exhibition preview of rare photographs of our favorite music icons.
Rock enthusiasts gathered at Boulevard 3 in Hollywood to indulge in chocolate covered strawberries and creative cocktails while viewing the photography collection. As I walked the venue and admired the photography, I must say there were a distinct few that left a lasting impression.
I noticed myself gravitating towards the work of Stephen Stickler. Maybe it was because his subjects were among my favorite artists; either way he successfully captured the essence of both Jay-Z and Rage Against The Machine during their hey days. He continued to impress with his colorless image of Moby wearing oversized headphones and a wildly windy shot of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl sipping a martini while he scarf blows uncontrollably indoors.
