Mariah Carey Redeems Herself on Dick Clark’s NYE Special

2017 was brought in on the fading edges of flaming crap. We can all agree it was not the best year. So it gives us great hope for 2018 to see Mariah bring her A-Game AND get on with the 6 degree weather show with or without her hot tea. If she can suck it up and make it look good, so can you. Can that be 2018’s official slogan?

After a disastrous goodbye to 2016 with a lack luster entrance into 2017, it was a very fitting beginning to a blah year. 2018 is giving us the hope we all need. It seems silly to equate hope with a singing performance, maybe….but look at last year. We’re feeling really optimistic here at the PPLA office to see that not all is lost. Women are coming back into their own! Men are standing up for whats right. And more than ever important stories are being told both in entertainment, in publishing, and around the world.

Mariah was an American staple in the music industry from the 80’s to the early 2000’s. For some like our editor Carolina, it was her first concert experience in the 90’s. Who else remembers the Daydream album, as Mariah Carey paved the way with hits like ‘Fantasy’, ‘Always Be My Baby’ and the tear jerker ‘One Sweet Day’.

We are all onboard the Mariah Carey train for this epic reclaiming of her R&B Kween title. Enjoy the link.
