MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2013

Brooklyn, New York was filled with surprises as MTV took over The Barclays Center for the Video Music Awards. From the daring looks on the red carpet to the over-the-top performances, 2013 was not a disappointment!

Lady Gaga was the first to take the stage with several looks from the past singing her new single “Applause.” From her past performances, an average performance was not to be expected. Not much left to the imagination as her “Yams” were popping out of her thong towards the end of the song!

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez sat next to each other, whispering and dancing along as girlfriends do. Oh, and they both took home a moonman, not too shabby.

Miley Cyrus twerked her way out of a teddy bear as she performed “We Can’t Stop,” followed by a performance with Robin Thicke with “Blurred Lines.”

And the moment everyone was waiting for: “Nsync!” After JT performed literally all of his hits, he performed with his former group members. I guess it’s not “Bye, Bye, Bye” for the group members after all? Shortly after, Jimmy Fallon  gave a heartfelt intro as he presented JT with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award.

After winning multiple awards, Macklemore performed “Same Love” with Mary Lambert and a surprise from Jennifer Hudson. The vocals were insane as they sang “I’m not crying on Sunday” to close out the piece.

One Direction is probably up all night dancing now as they won for “The Best Song Ever.” And who better to close the show then Katy Perry? Girl knocked it out of the park singing her new single #Roar at the bottom of the Brooklyn Bridge in a boxing ring. Yes, you read that right!
