Music Crush Monday: Cardi B

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve had Cardi B as our Music Crush Monday. There is no better return to her bop’s then her latest single “Like What.”

Cardi B’s new single is directed by none other than Offset. Her new track is sexy while also deliverying hypnotic beats that easily make it an earworm you want to hear again and again. We love how the sample was used, her verses are fun from beginning to end, and the music video is very well-produced too, not that we’d expect anything less from Offset. The sample we’re referring to is the legendary Missy Elliott. It’s a sample from her single “She’s A Bitch” from her 1999 album Da Real World. We love Missy and her beats never miss. Cardi isn’t a stranger to sampling and she’s always done a great job in the past and this latest sample is another example of sampling done really well.
