Music Crush Monday: Jack Black

Jack Black is one of the catchiest song writers out there. In the heels of The Super Mario Brother’s movie outstanding success the song “Peaches” has taken over.

Who knew Bowser was a musician? Jack Black had alot of fun playing up this song, which he further pushed by fleshing it out and giving us a full legit music video. Halfway through recording Jack Black was presented with the first beginnings of what would become “Peaches.” He knew he immediately liked it but also knew he had to flesh it out, and he did just that. Turning the animated ballad into a full scale bop, Jack had fun dressing in a nod to his character once his choice to expand the song was made. With the track topping digital music charts, Jack Black teamed up with Lyrical Lemonade director Cole Bennett for a music video for the ode to Princess Peach. Apparently, a Jack Black speciality is bringing life into a cute little diddy and turning it into a global hit. His Bowser is excellent but this ear worm of a musical number? Epic. At the box office, The Super Mario Bros. opened to a stupendous $204.6M in U.S.,and a record $375.6M Globally. Which means the Super Mario Bros. movie has scored the top global launch in animated features ever. The film has now surpassed Frozen 2 in the box office. Have you seen the new film yet?
