Music Crush Monday: Pete Davidson

Yeah, we didn’t have Pete Davidson as a hit music feature on our 2023 bingo card but here we are.

Pete Davidson took Ken’s iconic song from the new Barbie film and put his own SNL spin on it, we can’t get enough! “I’m Just Pete” is such a bop we actually can’t get over it. The Season 49 premiere of the late night sketch comedy show aired Oct. 15, host and former SNL Alumn Pete Davidson caught viewers up on the latest moments in pop culture. Top of which includes the unforgettable summer of Barbie with a parody of his own news hijinks in the music sketch “I’m Just Pete.”

In the music video, Pete Davidson re-enacts the “I’m Just Ken” scene from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. He sings about his tragically public dating life, his “butthole eyes” and his recent Peacock show “Bupkis,” starring Edie Falco and Joe Pesci. Side note, Pete looks great in pink. Our favorite moment from the sketch has to be when he referenced the famous “BDE” that the internet has assigned him. Oh Pete.
