Music Crush Monday: Super Bowl Half Time Show

Every year after the Super Bowl we kick off our week with the big Super Bowl Half Time Number. This year is no exception as we look at The Weeknd holding it down.

We’re sure we’re not alone when we say; its meta to say The Weeknd performed on a weekend for the Super Bowl. Exactly. Read that back twice and let us know if your eyes cross. The Weeknd gave us an interesting show, with a half time number that has provided the internet with an endless source of memes. We didn’t think about it at the time but, Twitter meme’s are right, it DOES look like the inside of a microwave when we pop the Hot Pockets in there. While his bandages have been revealed as an exaggerated media grab for his “I can’t feel my face when I’m with you” line, we are still scratching our heads as to why JLo and Shakira had to share a stage when The Weeknd gave us the inside of a microwave oven. All in all it was entertaining and that is the entire point of the show.

Looking back on the 2021 Super Bowl, we’re still wondering why they decided on an appreciation moment for frontline workers…when 25 thousand people were packed in a stadium? Did anyone else reflect on that? Let us know your thoughts.
