NEW YEAR’S EVE PREMIERE

So it might be a tad bit early to be spouting resolutions just yet, but that didn’t stop Hollywood’s hottest A-listers from walking the black carpet last night at the New Year’s Eve premiere. The crowd that amassed on Hollywood boulevard sure did make it seem like a Times Square sort of evening! Ryan Seacrest was even there to get the crowd in the holiday spirit….if only Dick Clark was in attendance to count down the ball drop!

The film, from Director Gary Marshall, writer Katherine Fugate, and produced by New Line Cinema, certainly aimed to out due it’s earlier holiday themed predecessor Valentine’s Day (by the same dream team). In NYE, we again follow the lives of several couples and singles as they intertwine on a holiday that is essentially all about love.

Among the cast  that turned up at Grauman’s Chinese Theater were Lea Michele (flagged by many of her Glee castmates), Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Sofia Vergara, Hector Elizondo, Hilary Swank, Ludacris, Alyssa Milano, Josh Duhamel (with wife Fergie), Abigail Breslin, Zac Efron, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The films’s A-list cast also includes absentee stars Robert DeNiro, Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, and countless other celebrity cameos.

So what happens when you pack a red carpet with so many stars…you get a lot of fans! Hollywood Boulevard, closed to traffic, literally could have been Times Square. The giant disco ball and life size glittery letters spelling out New Year’s Eve certainly put you in the mood to knock back some champagne and profess your plans to change.

Maybe the bigger question is what happens when you jam pack a film with so many celebrities? Well, if Valentine’s Day is any indication…it makes a lot of money and something tells me that’s just the resolution these filmmakers are wishing for.
