With restrictions changing across the country and the globe due to dropping Covid-19 numbers and an increase of vaccinations New York Comic Con is slated to be an in-person experience.
ReedPop, the organizer behind New York Comic Con as well as other prominent cons, has solidified plans for four in-person events this fall. Florida Supercon will take place at Miami Beach Convention Center Sept. 10-12. New York Comic Con is set for the Javits Center from Oct. 7 Oct. 7-10. Emerald City Comic Con is set for Seattle’s Washington State Convention Center Dec. 2-5. Meanwhile, The Chicago-based convention C2E2 will take place at McCormick Place Dec. 10-12. The shows will run at a reduced capacity. They will also require face coverings and temperature checks upon entry. The organizers are promising that the events will be increasing their sanitization practices, enforcing social distancing, and unlike cons of the past discouraging handshakes or hugs.
