Press Pass LA was on the red carpet for the premiere of Disney’s The Odd Life of Timothy Green which took place at the El Capitan Theatre and brought out stars Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, CJ Adams, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ron Livingston and more!
Celebrity guests were asked to bring a pair of new socks to donate to The Odd Life of Timothy Green Sock Drive, running through September 3rd. The Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM) will distribute the socks to needy families across the U.S. and Hanes has pledged to match donations up to 10,000 pairs of socks in support of the charity and film.
Reporter Kyra Batté was on the red carpet getting the scoop from this star-studded event. Kendall Ryan Sanders told Press Pass LA that the most challenging part of the film was not just learning how to play the bassoon, but being able to play a song within a couple weeks. When Lucy Gebhardt was asked what audiences should look forward to most in the film, she said, “it’s the great message that it brings, Peter Hedges and Disney brought everything to life, it’s such a great film for everyone.” Jennifer Garner was attracted to doing this film because, “very few movies get parenting right,” “this one really does” and says this movie is really magical.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green is an inspiring, magical story about a happily married couple, Cindy and Jim Green, who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. They bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, a child is born, though Timothy Green is not all that he appears. When young Timothy shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim—and their small town of Stanleyville—learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts.
The film was helmed by Academy Award nominee director-writer Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape) and was produced by Scott Sanders and Jim Whitaker with story by Ahmet Zappa and screenplay also by Peter Hedges.
This movie will be springing into theaters next Wednesday, August 15th.
