On Our Radar: YVR Get “Messy”
Courtney Jenae and Stephen Stahl (YVR) have made a huge impact in the K-POP world, shaping the sound for groups like Exo and Girls Generation, but now they are coming hot on the pop scene with their new single Messy.
Messy is more than what it seems on the surface. The production takes chances with stark shifts that take the listener out of the comfortable progression of a classic pop song. The industrial contrast of lines like hope you don’t cry over spilled milk compared to the airy, clean beats add fun, experimental levels to the song.
