All moms deserve to be pampered, but Hollywood has an extra special way of making sure its leading ladies are cared for on Mother’s Day. We attended the 3rd Annual On the Go Beauty Event and had the pleasure of catching up with a few celeb guests including singer Christina Milian, soap star Angel Conwell, British pop sensation Lolene, actress Barbara Alyn Woods and her talented starlet daughters, reality star Vienna Girardi, and three of the Miss California pageant competitors …to name a few! Did I mention I had my nails painted electric pink while wearing super comfy matching slippers!
So what was this event really all about? It was sponsored by Joico- “The Art of Healthy Hair” and Live Loyal PR and held at Siren Studios (Siren@Orange) this past weekend. Well, besides the free swag, makeovers, and cocktails it was a day where working mothers in Hollywood- be it talent, publicists, agents, crew members, stylists- could come together and really celebrate what it means to be a working woman in Hollywood. It was also a celebration of some of the great product lines that are not only go-to products in for the biz but also brands that are environmentally friendly and know how to give back!
The ladies … and a few Mr. Mom gentlemen in attendance… enjoyed trading in their heels for some soothing Dear Foam Slippers. Then it was off to the Bella Cures Salon table for a manicure with your choice of color from the China Glaze nail polish line. A good salon day is only complete with a blow out and style at the blow-dry bar sponsored by Joico and provided by the stylists of Beverly Hills salon, Gavert Atelier. With hair and nails, comes makeup and there’s nothing like a makeover sponsored by Nyx Makeup and Young Blood Mineral Cosmetics to give a gal a healthy glow and a new spring look. Of course, no spa day is complete without a stop by the Tei Spa booth for skin care tips, sample products, and the chance to win a full day at the spa! With all this relaxing, it’s only natural the moms got to stop by the juice and cocktail bar for some mixed drinks, O.N.E Coconut water, and hors d’oeuvres. To make it a real party a live DJ spun chart topping hits and a free concert by singer song-writer Samantha Mollen topped of the afternoon. And just to be sure the ladies felt the lasting effects of their lap of luxury, Vela Shape (given the seal of approval by everyone from Oprah to Kin Kardashian) provided everyone with a session of body shaping to ensure the tummy and thighs look good for days to come!
The day felt a lot like a bunch of bridesmaids, giddily getting ready for their best friend’s big day, rather than a high pressured pre- Hollywood awards show scene. It was nice to kick back, relax, and enjoying the softer side of being a lady in a very tough business! Another nice surprise was that the event’s sponsor Joico is the only professional haircare company on the EPA’s Top 20 On-Site Generation List and is a Green Power Partner. They manufacture their products with on-site wind power, voluntarily offset their carbion dioxide emissions, and utilize a hybrid bioplastic packaging to ensure that not only your hair but our planet looks and feels its best. Not bad for a lazy weekend afternoon.
