The SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills was filled with fashion lovers that came out to party and bid on designer handbags for charity. The Guard A Heart non-profit, organization joined forces with Causeology to present the “Purses From The Heart” red carpet, celebrity gala. The event was held to raise awareness and money for heart disease prevention.
100% of the proceeds from the silent auction will go to benefit the cause and the highest bidders will go home with a nice handbag. Model, Natalie Gal (America’s Next Top Model) was the Master of Ceremony for the evening. There were several new and gently-used, designer handbags on display for the silent auction, such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana and many more. Guests enjoyed a 3-hour open bar hosted by Blue Ice Vodka, appetizers by Salt Creek Grill catering and a delicious dessert bar by Sugar Sugar! Candy Buffet.
Elite Fashion Academy provided models to show Gabriel Guez’s designs. Most of the handbags were provided by the Fashionphile consignment boutique. We spotted and chatted with several celebrities on the red carpet, including: Actress, Ashleigh Hubbard (American Pie); Miss America International 2012, Carla Gonzalez; Music Artists, Kaya Jones (The Pussycat Dolls), Ricky J, Chanel, Liz Primo and Samantha Mumba; Actress, Ning Deng; Actor, Alejandro Nones (Teresa); Actor, James Scott (Days of Our Lives); Actress, Estella Warren (Planet of the Apes); Actor, Jesse Woodrow (The Unborn & Charmed); host and the evening’s celebrity guest auctioneer, Cory Almeida (Pictureka!) and more.
We had the pleasure of meeting the up-and-coming boy band, iM5 (discovered by Perez Hilton, Simon Fuller and Jamie King). The group performed for the event and the ladies went wild! The group consists of 5 guys: Cole, Dana, Will, Dalton and Gabe all ranging from ages 14 to 16. I asked them to describe their music and they said, “We do pop music but edgier than a lot of the stuff that’s out there right now.” I can’t wait to see more from this super cute group of guys!
There were lots of women that came out to support the cause and obviously get their hands on some handbags. Surprisingly, there were several men that came out as well. We got a chance to chat with the gorgeous actor, Max Ryan (Sex and the City 2) that told us that he just did a new Tiffany & Co. campaign that will be released in July. When asked what brought him out to the event, he said, “This event is great for women…my mom is really into purses.” He said that he was going to bid on one for her.
Overall, the event was a huge success! Giving back is always in fashion!
