Randall Park is switching gears, and heading behind to camera to make his directorial debut with a feature film adaptation of the Bay Area-set graphic novel Shortcomings. Roadside Attractions is set to produce the feature with Randall Park’s Imminent Collision banner. The graphic novel “Shortcomings” is a story that follows a trio of young urbanites — Ben Tanaka, Miko Hayashi and Alice Kim — as they navigate a range of interpersonal relationships, traversing the country in search of the ideal connection. Tomine will pen the screenplay.

Behind the camera, Randall Park previously directed the series finale of hit ABC series Fresh Off the Boat and penned the screenplay for Netflix rom-com Always Be My Maybe with co-star Ali Wong and Golamco
