Just in time for Halloween, Press Pass LA was at the opening weekend of Screamfest Horror Film Festival, America’s largest and longest running horror film fest!
In its 15th year, Screamfest offers unique access to some of the most creative forces in the horror genre through film screenings, Q & A’s and conversations with some of the most captivating artists working in the industry today. The 10-day film festival runs from Oct. 13 through Oct. 22nd at the TCL Theatres in Hollywood.
Press Pass LA was on the red carpet for the Opening Night film, the critically acclaimed anthology, Tales of Halloween. We had the chance to speak to the cast and the industry’s leading horror gurus including Producer Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity), Director Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw 2), Actress Jennifer Wegner (Tales of Halloween), Actor Mark Senter (Tales of Halloween), Patrick Ewald and Shaked Berenson (Epic Pictures) and more. The festival also included the premiere of The Labyrinth, a film by Producer James Franco’s USC film students, followed by a Q & A segment with Franco.The film is a compilation of 8 short films written by Writing Division Students, and directed by students from various divisions of the School of Cinematic Art Events
. Most of the core crew positions were all recent USC alumni and the actors included Jason Ritter, Josh Peck, Jim Parrack, Matt Lucas, Mia Serafino, Beth Grant & James Franco.
Screamfest also included screening of Hangman followed by a Q & A with actor Jeremy Sisto, retrospective screenings of Feast and Saul Bass’ Phase IV, five short film blocks from around the world, and closes out tomorrow night with the World Premiere of Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension.
