This past Sunday, the 66th Annual SHARE Boomtown Gala took place at the Beverly Hilton. The event raised a record-breaking amount for the charity which supports children in need in the Los Angeles community.
To date SHARE has raised over $54 Million for local charities including this year’s beneficiaries Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, CASA, Stuart House, Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF) and Team Primetime.
The funds were raised via a live auction, silent auction and call for donations led by auctioneer, Howie Schwartz, of Grandstand out of New York, which opened at the $100,000 level. For every $10,000 raised by SHARE at the event, 10 kids were supported for a year! First Vice President of Boomtown Party, September Sarno, was in charge of the Boomtown party including live and silent auctions and the appeal. First Vice President of Boomtown Show, Diane Forester, led the planning for all entertainment for the show.
The event took place at The Beverly Hilton’s renowned International Ballroom. It featured a performances by The Midtown Men, from the original cast of “Jersey Boys” on Broadway, as well as musical numbers by the SHARE members themselves. The show was choreographed by Charlene Painter and produced by Gary Smith.
This year’s Shining Spirit Award honoree was SHARE founding member, Joni Berry (Dancer/ Former President of Professional Dancers Society.) The award was presented by her friend and colleague actress/dancer Mitzi Gaynor, President of the Professional Dancers Society
